Choosing between hundreds of dog foods is hard — especially when your dog has a health condition, a sensitive stomach, or a vet recommendation you’re trying to follow. The MyPetFoodID Dog Food Finder does the comparison work for you.
Scan a barcode in the store or search our catalog from home, and we’ll show you how that food lines up with your dog’s profile: ingredients to watch, condition-related considerations, and whether a partner veterinary practice recommends it.
For each food we look at the ingredient list and product details against your dog’s profile. If your dog has a condition like kidney disease, food sensitivities, or weight concerns, we surface considerations relevant to that condition and flag ingredients commonly discussed for it. If your veterinary practice partners with MyPetFoodID, foods they specifically recommend carry a "vet recommended" badge.
We show you information to discuss with your veterinarian — we don’t diagnose, and no tool replaces your vet’s advice for a dog with a medical condition.
The finder works in your browser and in our mobile app. In the pet food aisle, scanning takes a few seconds per bag — many owners use it to shortlist two or three options before talking to their vet.
